Cons:
  • Doesn't keep food cold as long as states

A fairly new and interesting concept in the world of lunch bags, the PackIt freezable lunch bag makes packing your lunch convenient because you don't have to worry about packing ice packs or gel packs. Instead, the cooling packs are built right into the bag itself. The bag also boasts that it keeps food cold for longer periods of time than other lunch bags, with foods staying cold for up to 10 hours. The PackIt bag also folds up when it is empty for easy storage until it is ready to be used again. The bag is also good for the environment because it is PVC/lead free, non-toxic and safe for the earth. Even better, the bag encourages reuse instead of plastic or throw away lunch bags and can easily be cleaned by washing it by hand.

With a huge selection of colors and patterns available, this lunch bag has a style that can fit anyone's personal taste and style. Several trendy patterns including small and large polka dots, geometric designs and even robots are available. Bright, vivid colors like red, aqua and poppy are available. For a classic look, you can also order the bag in black or grey. With the simplistic, contemporary design and the great fabric styles, this bag will have you looking good with little to no effort.

The main advantage of using this bag is that it's easy to pack and you don't have to worry about remembering ice or gel packs. Plus, when you're done using it you can fold it up again for compact storage until you need to use it again. This is nice because after I've used this for lunch at work, I can fold it up and stick it right in my purse to take home. I don't have to worry about forgetting my lunch bag at work like I often do, and it isn't yet another bag I have to lug out of work with me at the end of the day. The bag is also really to clean if I get any spills in it.

To clean it, I usually just wipe it with a damp rag right after finishing up the dishes at night. This keeps the bag clean and fresh. Being able to store the bag right in the freezer is also nice, especially if you take a lot of frozen leftovers or entrees to work with you. I pack my lunch at night and store it in the freezer. In the morning, all I have to do is grab the lunch bag when I'm on my way out the door. With other lunch bags, I'd often forgo taking my lunch because I didn't have time to pack everything in the morning before leaving, and I couldn't store the entire bag in the freezer overnight.

The main drawback of this bag is that it does not keep food cold for as long as it claims. If I'm not keeping the bag in the freezer during the day, I can store food in int for about four hours and it's still cold. However, it doesn't keep food cold much longer than that, and many reviewers of the bag say that if left for 10 hours, the food inside is room temperature. The bag is great for taking lunch to work. Even if you don't have access to a freezer at work, the bag is still probably good use for keeping food cold at your desk for about four hours. However, if you're hoping to keep food cold fora longer period of time and don't have access to a freezer or refrigerator, this may not be the bag for you.

The other main drawback of this bag is that it's a bit heavier than other lunch bags. Since the cooler part of the bag it built into the bag itself, it isn't as lightweight as other lunch bags. Given the added convenience of not having to carry an ice pack or gel pack, this isn't a big deal for me. This is something to keep in mind when considering whether you should purchase this bag, however.
